The team was tasked with building a complete reverse auction simulation tool that was integrated with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment. This application consisted of a tool to define the parameters of the auction and launch the simulation on a load balanced cloud of machines, all from the client’s desktop. The Amazon infrastructure was leveraged and integrations were developed to autoscale the servers, run the simulations, and to store and return the results back to the client for analysis. Figure 1 shows the simple GUI that allows the user to load simulation files and launch them on the AWS infrastructure.
An associated web application was also developed to store and report on the results as well as to perform various analyses on the results to compare and correlate these with other simulations. An example of an auction simulation analysis reportĀ is shown in Figure 2.
